Lonely Planet review for Ty Warner Sea Center

The Ty Warner Sea Center is part of the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum. This is a great place for kids: the staff here is so engaging and enthusiastic, your child will be contemplating a career in marine biology in no time. From touch-a-shark water tanks and crawl-through aquariums to whale sing-alongs, it's interactive, educational and plain old fun.

The Sea Center also has opportunities for volunteers - from a few days to a week - so if oceanography's your thing, give 'em a ring before you arrive.

    A great learning experience!

    jackstone recommends this,

The Sea Center is located right on the Wharf and it is so much fun to go too! Great for kids and parents alike if you enjoy science and sea life. There are touch tanks and great tours you can take that are really informational as well. It is a really beautiful museum too! i went here the last time I was in town and had a lot of fun! I was staying at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So affordable and my favorite is spending time by their great pools lounging after long days out and about in Santa Barbara!
