great for art lovers!
jackstone recommends this,
I have been to some excellent art exhibits at the museum of art. I love that it is right down town and close to all the shops and restaurants as well! I've had some great days grabbing a quick bite to eat and then getting so wrapped up in the art at the museum! It's free admission on Sundays as well, and you can't beat free! When I first came to Santa Barbara I found myself entranced by all the art around town and then my hotel actually recommended I go and check out the museum! So glad they did, it's somewhere I always visit whenever I'm in the area! I always stay at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So budget friendly and in the best possible location; super close to everything you want to see in SB!

Compelling and earth shattering
tlogsmith recommends this,
I occasionally come up from LA to visit the new art exhibits at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art and every time is a treat. Perfectly placed, the museum is right in the middle of it all. What I love the most is when I'm done at the museum I can go out and shop on State street till my heart is content. Leaving my money in the department stores (typical woman!) I visit on a frugal budget when it pertains to my housing arrangements.I really love The Sandman Inn ( http://www.thesandmaninn.com/ ) for a few reasons. For one, location location location!! I am getting great location for less than normal asking price, who can pass that up? That and I love to lounge by the pool when I'm in SB, if I can't come home with any good new goodies, at least I left with a tan! The museum is the highlight of my trip every single time and each exhibit never ceases to impress.
