Out-of-towners drive an hour and a half for the swoon-inducing sushi at this bustling but breezy State St hotspot. Settle in on the sidewalk patio or grab a seat inside at the L-shaped sushi bar where friendly sushi chefs will steer you right. One can't-miss is the jalapeno yellowtail nigiri. Hot dishes are also available. No reservations, so expect a wait.

    Great Rainbow Rolls!

    I love sushi, end of story. So whenever I'm in a new place and I hear of a good sushi restaurant, I have to try it out. Arigato was delicious to say the least. Their Rainbow rolls were excellent and so was the calimari and vegetable rolls too! Their Miso soup was delicious and so was the California Rolls (an old favorite!). I definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi just as much as I do. IF you don't they have some great chicken teriyaki and other miscellaneous items for you to enjoy! My hotel front desk actually recommended I come here and I am so glad I did! I stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). One of my favorite hotels in Santa Barbara, it is really inexpensive and the rooms are very quaint and cozy, I love it.
