Traveling strangers, evening trains and a rowdy brewhouse only steps from your door - it's either the perfect country song or the Santa Barbara Tourist Hostel, a low-slung bungalow right next to the train station (bring earplugs).
This raucous little hostel skews young but with a kitchen, a pool table, lockers, a laundry and a book exchange, the price is right for anyone looking for inclusive lodging and the chance to make new friends. You can rent in-line skates, bikes and boogie boards. You need proof that you're a traveler to stay here.

Only one block from the beach, Amtrak train & Greyhound bus stations and State Street for nightlife & shopping,
We have private rooms and dorm rooms, both co-ed and female only.
Breakfast, parking, WIFI and ALL taxes included in price.

The hostel offers private rooms and dorms for the international backpacker.
Other amenities include laundry, vending machines, internet kiosks, free wireless internet access and activities information for your visit to Santa Barbara. There are also bike and Rollerblade rentals, maps, guides and tour suggestions.
The hostel is located directly opposite the Amtrak train and the Greyhound bus stations, with plenty of car and bike parking.
We welcome all guests looking for clean, secure accommodation in a fun atmosphere. Come and see the American Riviera for yourself!
Dorm rooms are intended for international travelers with a valid non-US passport and a plane ticket leaving the USA. For American citizens a current student ID and another form of official ID is required. There are no requirements to stay in our private rooms.
Our prices include all taxes!
If hostel private rooms are full you will be accommodated in our other property> haley cottages.
Opening times:
8:15 am till 10:15pm. During the day the lobby is closed between 12:30pm and 1:30pm (rest of hostel remains accessible)
Our check in time for both private rooms and dorm beds is after 2pm.
Please note that there is a $20 key deposit for each key, which is returned upon checkout. The key deposit must be paid in cash. Sorry, but the key deposit cannot be put on your credit card.
If cancellations/ changes are made up to 72 hours before your check-in date, you will not be charged.
Late cancellations or bookings that don't show will be charged a one night no-show/ late cxl/ late change fee.
