Seems Muddy Waters has everything required for the quintessential indie coffeehouse. And the coffee's darn good too. Great place to escape the State St hordes.

    if you love coffee and music this is the place for you. A great local hang out and on the weekends they always have bands come and play, it's a whole lot of fun! Great food too and very festive people. A friend that lives in town recommended it while I was there because a band that I really enjoy was playing that weekend. I had so much fun!! I really liked that it was close to my hotel too! I stayed at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). In the best possible location, it's the perfect place to come back to after a long day out in SB! I also love that it is so affordable! Especially for Santa Barbara!
