Lonely Planet review for Sportsman Lounge

Tucked on a low-traffic corner just west of tourist-heavy State St, this dark and cozy watering hole is a plain-old dive bar with no higher pretensions. Great jukebox.

    A total hole in the wall and very local, this is a great place to watch the game and have a good time with old friends. I do just that whenever I'm in town too! Off the beaten path, I really enjoy that you can bypass the State Street club and bar traffic here! I also loved that it was really close to my hotel! I was staying at the Sandman Inn (www.thesandmaninn.com). So affordable and I loved that it was so quaint and cozy! SO worth it!
