Getting there & away
Reno/Tahoe International Airport (RNO; 775-328-6870; www.renoairport.com) is about 5 miles southeast of downtown and is served by such airlines as Alaska, American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest and United.
Greyhound (775-322-2970; 155 Stevenson St) has daily nonstop services to Truckee (one way $10.50, 50 minutes), San Francisco (one way $30, five to seven hours) and Sacramento (one way $23, 2¾ to 3¾ hours).
Reno is a stop on the California Zephyr route operated by Amtrak (775-329-8638, 800-872-7245; 135 E Commercial Row). Westbound trains stop at Truckee ($15, one hour), Sacramento ($33, five hours) and Emeryville/San Francisco ($36, 7½ hours).
