So many posts request the impossible - that a bunch of people who have never met you magically intuit how much you have to spend and what will make you happy on vacation, generally planning out your route for three months and helping you get discount flight reservations.
So, what can you do to get great travel advice?
1. Do your homework

Not sure if this is the best place for this topic so let me know if it would be better answered elsewhere.
I'm looking to do some seasonal work next summer 2017 somewhere out west either on a ranch or in a Nationl park. Montana, Wyoming and Colorado are the places that interest me. I currently live in Connecticut and have only ever done paid work in my home state so working elsewhere is new to me. If hired my question is would I have to change my address and car registration/insurance? I don't…
Last minute trip from Ottawa area to NYC to see a Broadway play. Staying midtown (couple blocks from Times Square) and have a few questions about the drive.
I know most people recommend parking outside city and training in, but we are **travelling with an individual with special needs ** and will need to drive directly to the hotel (where parking is $52/day … ouch!)
We have never done this trip. Staying in the city for 3 days (Friday through Sunday - driving home on Monday)
I was hoping to travel with my bike in a packed bike box from O'hare to a hostel downtown Chicago. Seems its best to take the "blue Line Train" but will they let me on with a bike box?
I would be catching a train from the airport about 3pm and back to airport bout say 6.30am . Any thoughts from people who may know how the Chicago system works with regards to bikes?
Ok I am sure there are a million and one topics on places to stay in New York and here is another one
Checked out all the usual sites and just looking for users recommendations
We are heading to NY for Paddy’s Day (2 adults) for 5 days & price range is medium, don’t want to spend a small fortune. Just looking for a hotel that is close enough and nothing fancy just clean and somewhere to rest our heads. Also looking for places to go on Paddy’s night. I have done NY for Paddy’s day but it was a…
We're at the early stages of considering options for a spring 2017 east coast road trip - starting and ending in New York. After 5 days in New York, we want to travel to Philadelphia and Washington DC and the rest is up for negotiation! As we're travelling from Europe, we're unashamedly going for the big-hits! (it'll be years before we can afford flights to the US again!)
One option we're looking at is making our way down to Savannah:
5th - 10th April - New York
Hello fellow travelers,
I am planning to spend a few days in Portland this fall and am hoping to be able to experience some of the wonderfully, quirky things about the city that inspired the TV show Portlandia. I'm all about sustainability, clean living and environmental conservation so if you can think of any activities/experiences etc that are in that vein, I'd love to hear about t"hem. I'll likely be traveling with a small group (2-4).
Where should we eat? organic, vegetarian, locally…
