Getting there & away
Amtrak (800-872-7245; www.capitolcorridor.org) runs three buses daily to Sacramento ($14; 1hr 20min) and South Lake Tahoe ($14; 1hr). The Placerville Transit Station (2984 Mosquito Rd) is a charming covered bus stop with benches and restrooms; it’s about half a mile from downtown, on the north side of Hwy 50.
