Lonely Planet review

The Alley has a staged shore-leave feel to it, but it's so old and worn out the place has become a genuine article of its own unique category. Injecting a nightly shot of subdued life is the bar's hard-living piano player, Rod Dibble, and his troupe of regular fans, who pass a microphone around.
