Muir Woods is just 12 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Driving north on Hwy 101, exit at Hwy 1 and continue north along Hwy 1/Shoreline Hwy to the Panoramic Hwy (a right-hand fork). Follow that for about 1 mile to Four Corners, where you turn left onto Muir Woods Rd (there are plenty of signs). There are no direct buses to Muir Woods - a fact that’s seriously silly since parking and traffic are real problems. However, at the time of writing, there was a summer shuttle bus in the works.
