Getting there & away
Yarts (209-388-9589, 877-989-2787; www.yarts.com) buses depart four times daily for Yosemite Valley from several Merced locations, including the Merced Transpo Center (cnr 16th & N Sts) and the Amtrak station (cnr 24th & K Sts). The trip takes about 2½ hours and stops include Mariposa, Midpines and the Yosemite Bug Lodge & Hostel in Midpines. Round-trip adult/child tickets cost $20/14 and include the park entrance fee (quite a bargain!). Greyhound also operates from the Transpo Center.
