Lodging in McCloud is taken seriously – all are excellent and reservations are recommended. For camping go to the McCloud ranger district office for information on the half-dozen campgrounds nearby. Fowlers Camp is the most popular. The campgrounds have a range of facilities, from primitive (no running water and no fee) to developed (hot showers and fees of up to $15 per site). Ask about nearby fire-lookout cabins for rent – they give amazing, remote views of the area.
