Not what you’d expect on tony Charles St, this old-fashioned cafeteria is a favorite neighborhood hangout. Basic diner fare includes pancakes, steak and eggs, burgers and sandwiches, and big, hearty salads. For dinner, add table service and candlelight, and the place goes upscale without losing its down-home charm. The menu is enhanced by homemade pastas, a selection of meat and fish dishes and an impressive roster of daily specials.

    Once we discovered this gem of a place we couldn't stop returning! We went here for breakfast nearly every day. There is a huge selection of delicious offerings and they do portion sizes fit for kings!

    I loved their pancakes with a mountain of fresh fruit on top. Their oatmeal (also served with vast quantities of delicious fresh fruit) was also excellent. They also do great cooked breakfasts.

    I loved the atmosphere in this place. The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and knew us pretty well by the time our holiday was over.

    They also have a policy where they ask customers not to sit down at a table until you have got your food so that tables are free for people who do have their food. We found that this worked surprisingly well as even when there was a big queue there was always a free table when we went to sit down with our food. (At breakfast you order at the counter and they cook it in front of you.)

    The description above calls this place "old-fashioned". I would say that it is old fashioned in spirit, in that it serves great food in a welcoming atmosphere, but the decor is clean, modern and inviting.

    Do not miss this place out it is fantastic!

    PS Don't be put off if the queue is out the door! It moves really fast and gives you a chance to make your mind up on what to order!!
