Opera House
Lonely Planet review for Opera House
After more than a decade of neglect, the Opera House reopened its doors in 2004 for a highly acclaimed production of Disney’s Lion King. The lavish theater has been restored to its 1928 glory, complete with mural-painted ceiling, gold-gilded molding and plush velvet curtains. The glitzy theater regularly hosts productions from the Broadway Across America series, as well as the Christmastime performance of The Nutcracker by the Boston Ballet.
