Cocktail Bar entertainment in Boston

    Lucky’s Lounge

One of Boston’s top-notch bars, Lucky’s earns street cred by having no sign. Step inside and you’ll return to a delightfully gritty lounge that looks like it's straight from 1959. Enjoy well-priced drinks, excellent martinis and Motown-inspired bands playing tunes to which people actually dance (Thursday to Sunday). Sinatra Sunday Brunch remains a perpetual favorite, and the after-work scene is one of the liveliest around.

    Eastern Standard

Whether you choose to sit in the sophisticated, brassy interior or on the heated patio (open year-round), you’re sure to enjoy the upscale atmosphere at this Kenmore Sq favorite. French bistro fare, with a hint of New American panache, caters to a pregame crowd that prefers wine and cheese to peanuts and crackerjacks. Great people-watching on game nights.

    Brick & Mortar

Enter through the unmarked door (next to Central Kitchen) and climb the stairs to cool cocktail heaven. No pretenses here – just a pared down setting and a choice list of craft cocktails and beers. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, so if you don't see something you like, ask for advice.

    Minibar

Located in the posh Copley Square Hotel (in the lounge, not in the rooms), Minibar is much more enticing than your typical hotel bar. It’s a swank space with cushy couches, sexy people and good vibes. Most importantly, the bartenders mix deadly delicious cocktails. Come for happy hour (5pm to 7pm Monday to Thursday) and feast on juicy $2 sliders.

    28 Degrees

Twenty-eight degrees is the optimum temperature for a martini. Now, perhaps you're getting an idea about what to order at this this super-slick bar on the edge of the South End. The blue basil and cucumber martini is just an example from a long list of perfectly chilled treats, which change seasonally.

The uber-chic interior makes this a sweet spot to impress a date. Don’t leave without checking out the loo.

    Flash's Cocktails

With its old-fashioned neon sign shining bright across Back Bay, Flash's offers an awesome balance between retro and right-now. The menu includes classic cocktails known as 'Flashbacks' and contemporary concoctions, dubbed 'Flash Forward.' Garlic fries are the perfect munchy accompaniment. Considering the fancy-pants drinks, it does an admirable job of preserving a neighborhood atmosphere.

    Alibi

There are actually two hot-to-trot drinking venues in the Liberty Hotel, both architecturally impressive and socially oh-so-trendy. Downstairs, Alibi is set in the former ‘drunk tank’ of the Charles St Jail. The prison theme is played up, with mugshots hanging on the brick walls and iron bars on the doors and windows. Upstairs, Clink is the opposite, set under the soaring ceiling of the hotel’s lobby. Both places are absurdly popular, so you’d best come early if you care to sit down.
