Lonely Planet review

The BCA serves as a nexus for excellent small theatre productions. The playwrights represented reflect the edgy, contemporary minds and times of the diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds found throughout the region. Each year over 20 companies present more than 45 separate productions ranging from comedies to drama and modern dance to musicals.

The BCA occupies a complex comprised of several buildings, including a cyclorama from 1884 built to display panoramic paintings, a former organ factory, and the Mills Gallery. The Mills Gallery is the main venue for visual arts at the BCA and hosts rotating exhibits of cutting-edge art, as well as opportunities to interact with the artists, like artist and curator talks.
