Lonely Planet review for County Line Bar-B-Que

County Line Bar-B-Que is the original BBQ joint, located in a wood-shack roadhouse off Hwy 360. It serves a helluva hunka beef - the barbecued 12oz rib-eye steak beats all.

    Gourmet barbeque? Oh yes!

    colonelplink recommends this,

It may be considered an oxymoron, but the County Line is gourmet fare for Central Texas barbeque lovers. Every meat is oak-smoked to perfection, and their sauce is prized above all others in a region that is hard to impress on that score. Dip some of their homemade bread in it, and boy howdy! The location on Lake Austin at 2222 & 360 is a bbq-only affair, while the location on the hill at 2244 & 360 adds expertly-grilled steaks and fish. The County Line excels at beef ribs, an unusual and unusually delightful offering for Texas joints. Waits can be long for such a well-loved venue but the family-style feast is more than worth it. Quite simply, they are Austin's pre-eminent barbeque restaurants. Weather permitting, the views off the back of the Hill location are almost unrivalled in all the city.
