Taking home cooking to a gluttonous new level, Threadgill’s lets you choose from a ridiculously long list of vegetable sides – something you just don’t get at home. Pair your meatloaf or chicken-fried steak with spinach casserole, butter beans, mac and cheese (not technically a vegetable, but still) and classic mashed potatoes and gravy.

    Heapin' helpin's of great food and quality service

    colonelplink recommends this,

    Try the catfish, fried oysters, or the Sunday gospel brunch. Fresh cornbread included in the breadbasket brought to hungry patrons. The veggie offereings are multitudinous and bodaciously flavorful. Chicken fried steak is, of course, top notch at this establishment. For down-home cookin' and Austin history it doesn't get any better than Threadgill's. Look for the painting over the door of Freddie King piecred by a ballistic armadillo!
