Lonely Planet review for Lambert’s
Torn between barbecue and fine dining? Lambert’s serves intelligent updates of American comfort-food classics – some might call it ‘uppity barbecue’ – in a historic stone building run by Austin chef Lou Lambert.

Texas BBQ that's uniquely Austin
lemonfreshscent recommends this,
It's not your traditional Texas BBQ - and that's why I love it. The basics are sound - they use quality cuts of meat and smoke it in oak. However, they give it an unusual twist, like rubbing their pork ribs with maple and coriander.
The sides are more "yuppy" than what you typically find; grilled asparagus, french beans with almonds, and brussels sprouts. I'm not complaining, it's delicious. Don't be alarmed, however; they also have the traditional potato salad and ranch style beans.
The decor is beautiful, wood everywhere, high ceilings, and cozy booths all in an old brick warehouse. It's a bit upscale and pricey for Austin, but I highly recommend it for anyone that wants to splurge on a great experience.
