One of the best kept secrets for locals in Austin, Polvos is a wonderful experience for anyone who loves anything Latin. The food is superb, and I highly recommend the Camaron Diablos (shrimp in spicy sauce) and the mole enchiladas con pastor (pork enchiladas with mole). If something different is what you're looking for, the vegetable soup is out of this world. Don't forget to check out the salsa bar. With three different sauces to choose from - tomato, lime, and roasted - and spicy vegetables, you can easily fill up on the chips before your dinner arrives.

Besides the food, Polvos is known to Austinites as the place to get the best margaritas in town. Be careful because you can get them by the pitcher, and they will knock you on your butt! If it's a nice day, which it almost always is in Austin, grab a seat outside. You'll feel welcome as the waiters are almost all from different countries and are willing to help you with your Spanish.
