Bar entertainment in Austin

  1. A

    Tiniest Bar in Texas

Tiny bar, huge patio, super-casual vibe.

    E 6th St

The frat-boy brawl that is E 6th St gets started evenings when middle-aged tourists fill the bars; as the night goes on, the crowd gets younger and more raucous than a pig in heat. It's not the best Austin has to offer, but it is something to see.

    Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon

This funky little cinder-block building is one of those dive bars that Austinites love so very much – and did even before it became nationally famous for Chicken- Shit Bingo on Sunday nights.

    Jo's

SoCo caters to the more offbeat in eclectic Austin. Grab a table and coffee across the street at Jo's, an outdoor-only café, and then watch as the local tattoo art walks by.

    Hotel San José

Transcending the hotel-bar genre, this one is actually a cool, Zen-like outdoor patio that attracts a chill crowd, and it's a nice place to hang if you want to actually have a conversation.

  6. Contigo

Big shade trees over a relaxed patio make this one of the nicest places in town to chill out with a cocktail.
