Prince William Sound Kayak Center information
This well-run organization, established for 32 years, rents kayaks (single/double $50/80, discounted for multiple days) and runs guided tours, including three-hour paddles to the kittiwake rookery (per person $80 based on four people) and daylong excursions to Blackstone Bay (for two people $425; hefty discount if you can get six folks together). It also has escorts for multiday trips. These aren’t guided tours: while escorts will suggest camping spots and routes, you’re in charge of your own trip, including food and gear. It’s a neat option for independent-minded folks who don’t have the experience to feel comfortable spending a week on the water solo. The company will also let customers ‘camp’ and use the climbing wall inside its cavernous (but waterproof) facility.
