Café Michele
Talkeetna's best food and most upscale atmosphere can be found here, either inside the bright and spotless dining room or out on the flower-bedecked patio. Prices are steep, but worth it. Owner-chef Michele Camera-Faurot subscribes to the food-as-art school; try the signature soy-ginger salmon, which is superb. Fine wines and good imported/craft beers are also available.

This venerable, colorful establishment has the best breakfasts in town. Half-orders are adequate; fulls are mountain-sized. The restaurant also doubles as a bakery, cooking up giant cinnamon rolls in the morning.
