Getting there & away
LAB Flying Service (907-983-2471; www.labflying.com), Wings of Alaska (907-983-2442; www.wingsofalaska.com) and Skagway Air (907-983-2218; www.skagwayair.com) have regular flights between Skagway and Juneau ($100), Haines ($50) and Glacier Bay ($130).
Alaska Marine Highway (907-983-2941, 800-642-0066; www.ferryalaska.com) has ferries departing every day in summer, and Chilkat Cruises & Tours (888-766-2103; www.chilkatcruises.com; one-way adult/child $30/15) runs twice daily to Haines.
Sourdough Car Rentals (907-983-2523; cnr Broadway St & 6th Ave; 8am-5pm) has both cars ($50) and bikes ($10).
Alaska Direct (800-770-6652; www.alaskadirectbusline.com) connects Skagway with Fairbanks three times a week ($230), with buses stopping at Whitehorse along the way ($50).
The White Pass & Yukon Railroad (800-343-7373; www.whitepassrailroad.com) goes to Fraser, British Columbia, where there’s a bus connection to Whitehorse (adult/child $106/53).
