Activities in Misty Fiords National Monument

  1. Flightseeing

Flightseeing may be the only option if you're in a hurry and most tours include landing on a lake and a short walk in the rain forest. But keep in mind that this is a big seller on the cruise ships and when the weather is nice it is an endless stream of floatplanes flying to the same area: Rudyerd Bay and Walker Cove. Throw in the tour boats and one local likened such days to 'the Allied invasion of Omaha Beach.'

  2. Southeast Sea Kayaks

Kayaking is the best way to experience the preserve. Ketchikan's Southeast Sea Kayaks offers a one-day guided paddle in which small groups and their kayaks are transported by boat to the fjords and back. It also has a five-day guided tour and rents kayaks.
