Hi guys We need you guidance :-)!
My girlfriend and I will be traveling in the US for something around 14-17 days at the end of September. We're cool with driving but we don't mind taking some flights if needed. We really like country music so we'll go to some concerts on the way. We don't care much about museums, historical sites, amusement parks or fancy restaurants. we don't like hiking. We like romantic places, nice views and happy places in which you can go out at night.
What places do you…
We are planning a 3 week trip to Colorado in September, with our 6 month old baby. This is our first big trip with the baby so any ideas or suggestions on our itinerary below would be greatly appreciated. We were very active hikers before we had the baby and loved long hikes, kayaking, rafting, etc...We would like to do some short hikes (less than 5 miles) with the baby; this will be our first time hiking with him. We really love outdoorsy stuff and are less interested in cultural/city…
Hi, I posted a few general questions here a few months back, now with 7 weeks to go (arrive sat 9 Sept for 3 weeks) am wanting to firm up the itinerary (though no campsites booked so we can change our minds as we go).
As a recap, we have hired a car from Oakland airport. Flying back from Vegas to Oakland is not an option, we will be returning the car to Oakland. Will be camping and have all our own gear. We like moderate/strenuous hiking, cycling, canoeing, wildlife, so outdoors generally.
Ok so. We have a trip planned to Havasupai early October. We will be staying in Peach Springs AZ Wednesday October 4th and driving to the trail head early morning Oct 5th. We will hike out Sunday Oct 8th and drive back to Vegas that afternoon. Flying out early Monday morning.
Originally, my sister and I had planned on flying into Phoenix the Monday before, catching Sedona on the way up on Tuesday and staying in/close to GC for sunrise and a short morning hike before heading to Peach Springs…
So it looks like I'll be heading out to the park this weekend arriving around 11AM Saturday and leaving Sunday morning. Yes... I know it's not enough time but I want to make the best of it!
I'm a photographer, so shooting the Moulton Barns Sunday morning is a must. Other than that, I'm open. I'll have a car and will be setting up a tent at either Colter Bay or Gros Ventre, depending on availability or activity location.
Sunset is pretty late so it looks like I'll have a pretty good day in the…
Anyone who has been to Zion in recent years during the high season probably saw this coming.
"National Park Service rangers struggle to cope with overcrowded tour buses and to alleviate damage to Zion's natural wonders that includes soil erosion and human waste near trails."
"Public comment on the plan runs through Aug. 14. It could take at least two years before officials begin phasing in a reservation system."
We are driving from Portand to LA and have 7 full days to do it in. We want to spend 1 full day in San Francisco. On a previous forum i was advised to not go to Redwood Forest as there were more beautiful parts to see. We will have a tent so are ready for some primitave camping.
Any suggestions would be most welcome as we are up for a beautiful adventure.
