Lonely Planet review
The grand dame of Haines hotels is the former bachelor officers’ quarters and overlooks Fort Seward’s parade ground. A National Historic Landmark, the hotel is a little worn around the edges, but every year a few more of the 32 rooms are renovated. Many still have fireplaces and classic claw-foot bathtubs, while Room No 4, a corner room on the 2nd floor, has unbelievable views.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Halsingland and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Haines.
