Denali River Cabins & Cedars Lodge
Lonely Planet review
This Doyon-operated place offers cozy, double-occupancy, modern cabins with private bathrooms. Some cabins have decks with the Nenana River rushing past. There are hotel-style rooms here as well, though you are better off with the cabins.
The river-front cabins with great views of the Nenana River are definitely worth the extra money, as they get you out into the wilderness and away from the maze of propane-and-cedar-scented cabins on the interior of the McKinley Village property. The private bathrooms in the double-occupancy cabins are a nice touch out here in the middle of Alaska; there's also a sauna. McKinley Village is a 'village' in name only, and there are precious few services available here.
