So many posts request the impossible - that a bunch of people who have never met you magically intuit how much you have to spend and what will make you happy on vacation, generally planning out your route for three months and helping you get discount flight reservations.
So, what can you do to get great travel advice?
1. Do your homework
The web is filled with basic information like how far it is from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, or how…
Currently doubting wether i go to Reunion or Hawaii.
I am used to travel to remote areas and dont even like to see anybody at the beaches. I have travelled to the desolate parts of the South Pacific and loved it.
Which place is more quiet? Reunion or Molokai/Lanai ( Hawaii ). In terms of scenery which place is more impressive and offers the most variety in landscape?? I really like to speak to somebody who has been to both. Are reunions beaches packed? And those of the outer islands of H…
Hi, just returned from a nice vacation Stateside and am planning the next one already.
This is still on the drawing board, but the general idea is to plan a 10 to 14 day round road trip to Alaska from Edmonton. Travel will be in either July or August 2016. Transportation will be in a Toyota Tundra Truck and the general plan is to stay nights at hotels / motels / lodges en-route. (avoid camping as far as possible). We are 3 guys in our mid to late forties and are interested in viewing wildlife…
I decided to post a new topic as I really can't decide about these two.
My daughter is 2.5 yrs old, she loves walking and running and she is generally super active. After some time she gets tired and then she likes to be carried by us or a stroller. She takes a few minutes to recharge and then she is ready to explore the area on her own. She doesn't mind walking uphill and downhill, it's real fun for her.
She loves her Maclaren stroller and she doesn't like her backpack carrier that…
Hi All, I'm planning a two week road trip with my family (mum, dad and two boys aged 4 & 6) in mid-late October this year and would love some advice please! We will be flying into LAX from Sydney then I was thinking of flying into Salt Lake City, renting a car, then making our way south seeing Arches NP, Bryce &/or Zion, & Grand Canyon (is North rim worth doing as well as the South?) then finishing up in Phoenix (flying on to St Louis as we are spending Halloween there with friends)…
I am planning a backpacking trip to Shenandoah National Park and am looking for transportation options to/from DC. I have family that live in both Stafford VA and Charlottesville VA and I'd like to find out what my affordable options are for getting to/from any airport in DC to/from Charlottesville and Stafford. I see there is an Amtrack train/bus but is that my only option? It looks like the dates I need may be sold out :(
Any pointer are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hi, I need an expert on Ohio.
I'm walking across American and so far I've just finished the Panhandler trail and I'm in Weirton, Ohio, by the Ohio river.
My plan is to head North West across Ohio, Indianna and Illinois towards Chicago. I was just wondering if there are any places I should avoid? like canton for example.
Or if anyone know of any highways with good shoulders I could walk on.
Somebody did suggest following Highway 40 to Columbus but I'm not to sure about that.
Any advice would be…
