Momma O's Seafood is the place for a halibut fix - have it fried or, better, Cajun style - but don't discount the excellent onion rings or udon noodles.

    Simple is better

    section8 recommends this,

    There is a reason this place has survived decades along what has long been Anchorage's wicked mile. Is it healthy? No. Is the setting pleasing? Oh, hell no. So why is this the place to enjoy fried halibut?

    Because they do something very simple, and they do it well.

    Halibut baskets and sandwiches a couple of ways, a few lighter options like noodles salads, and that's about it. Fresh halibut and hand-cut fries have drawn people from around the city to bypass the crack whores and chronic inebriates and into its strip mall location for years.

    In a land known for good seafood, this is the place to go for good fish on a travelers budget.
