Description provided by property
Located atop the hill over looking Cruz Bay, St. John, USVI; A basic accommodation brought to you by Hammock House Hostel.
We are the least expensive St. John CRUZ BAY accommodation & we have no minimum night stay requirements. Our Location offers a break from the heat with constant mountain breezes. We have made this accommodation option available for those who find St. John cost prohibitive.
It is ideal for back-packers & budget minded travelers who are comfortable with basic clean & secure private accommodations while saving $ for activities or car rental. Häst-Hill 'Hostel' is not a place I would book if I were planning the 'Caribbean dream vacation of a life time'. Nonetheless, we are proud of this basic accommodation we provide & have had 100% guest satisfaction thus far.
Enjoy the convenience of being just minutes out side of Cruz Bay without the crowds & congestion but not feeling isolated and far away from all the reasons you came to St. John.
You will enjoy the privacy of your own space. Though small, it is efficient in providing more than adequate restroom facilities with hot water & a kitchen for your full use. (Stove & Fridge).
Your balcony has a lovely view of the gully & has constant mountain breezes. We are located very near several hiking paths that lead directly to North Shore Rd & the beautiful beaches St. John is know for. You can also choose a path that takes you directly in to Cruz Bay as an alternative to walking down Centerline Road.
We are here for you from check-in to check out if you need us, otherwise we respect your privacy & appreciate the same in return.
Your private efficiency studio apartment is located in the 'Grunwald' neighborhood in what is locally know as the 'Upper Pastroy'. The completely private unit is located in a locally occupied West Indian apartment complex.
Though the public grounds of the apartment complex can leave much to be desired to the 1st world tourist, it is an opportunity to see how the locals live; daily feeding of the free roaming hens, rooster & chics & aromatic cooking is carried in the mountain breeze every night. You will find your private unit, 1st world clean & nothing short of thoroughly sanitized & situated for your arrival.
We are just up the Hill from Cruz bay. 6 minutes by car, 20minutes on foot & we are located directly off centerline road where the $1 bus passes on the hour to Cruz Bay & Coral Bay. Hitchhiking is a common & safe cultural custom here on St. John.
The bedding we currently offer is strictly air-mattresses only. We have made this decision for the health benefit of you, our guests. Vinyl air-mattresses with traditional mattress pads & covers for added comfort is the only way to insure the cleanliness & sanitation of publicly shared bedding.
This may not be an ideal sleeping arrangement for some but it is what we offer & we feel good about that choice. (*NOTE: We can offer a traditional pillow top twin size bed for solo travelers only, upon request at no additional charge) Towels & Linens are available for an additional charge: ($10 for 1 Guest $15 for 2 Guests)
Cancellation policy: 72h before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or No Show, you will be charged the first night of your stay.
