The US Virgin Islands offer a wide range of lodging, including campgrounds, B&Bs, guesthouses, hotels, private villas and luxury resorts.
Peak season is winter, from mid-December through April, when prices are highest. It’s best to book ahead at this time as rooms can be scarce. Some lodgings close in September, the heart of low season.
Be aware that while air-conditioning is widely available, it is not a standard amenity, even at top-end places. If you want it, be sure to ask about it when you book.
Rental accommodations are widely available, ranging towards the top end for costs (though you might find a few one-bed places for $250 per night). Try McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villasand Purple Pineapple for rentals. Also check Vacation Rental by Owner – many return USVI visitors say it provides the best results for the islands’ resorts, where individual units can vary markedly.
We’ve listed prices for peak-season travel and, unless stated otherwise, do not include taxes (typically 18%).
The price ranges are as follows:
| $ | budget | under US$75 |
| $$ | midrange | US$75 to US$200 |
| $$$ | top end | more than US$200 |
