I spent the weekend traveling to Colonia del Sacramento, generally just referred to as Colonia. Colonia is the closest Uruguayan city to Buenos Aires, and is positioned right at the point where the Rio de la Plata starts to open into the ocean, so it was a desireable territory for much of its colonial history. We'd heard mixed reports on Uruguay. Some people said a day-trip from Buenos Aires to the pretty Colonia del Sacramento was all you needed. Others labelled it boring and uninteresting. One person raved about its beaches and laid-back lifestyle. These reports only made us curious and, as I think any traveller should, we decided to find out for ourselves. This meant a big day of travel. From Iguazu, we jumped back on the bus for 17 hours back to Buenos Aires (first-class of course) which was followed by a one hour ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata. Warning: this post's a big one!

Yesterday marked exactly 5 months since we left home, and we have already logged a total of 60 posts on this blog!I have to say, that I am severely running out of adjectives to use after so many posts. And I am sure you are tired of reading how "beautiful" or "amazing" or "incredible" that things are. But, what else can I say? Every place we see introduces us to something new, whether it be a "beautiful" view, an "amazing" new friend, or an "incredible" experience.
