Weather
Since Uruguay’s major attraction is its beaches, most visitors come in summer. Between late April and November, strong winds sometimes combine with rain and cool temperatures (July’s average temperature is a chilly 11°C). Along the Río Uruguay in summer, temperatures can be smotheringly hot, but the interior hill country is slightly cooler (January’s average maximum is between 21°C and 26°C).
