Car rental outlets are ubiquitous near the bus terminal and along Gorlero. Some of the better deals include Punta Car (482112; cnr Bulevar Artigas & Pedro Risso), Multicar (443143; Gorlero 860) and Dollar (443644; Gorlero 961).
Bus & tram
Bus
Micros (minibuses) leave every 15 minutes in summer from Bay 1 at Punta’s bus terminal and serve the eastern beaches and nightspots on Rambla Batlle Pacheco on their way to La Barra (UR$25, 20 minutes); others run to points west, including Punta Ballena and Piriápolis.
