Back in the day you'd have to travel through the desert on a camel for 5 days to stumble across Al-ain, The UAE's half of the Buraimi Oasis east of Abu Dhabi. These days it's an easy two hour drive, but the joy of arrival is no less intense: a cool climate, verdant streets and kitschy decorated roundabouts are welcoming features of this town.
