Since summer 2008, the resident bottlenose dolphins and fur seals of the Dubai Dolphinarium have delighted audiences with their tricks and stunts. Private swimming sessions with Flipper’s cousins are also available (Dh1600 for up to three people). Although now quite popular, the facility’s opening generated significant criticism from animal rights activists contending that these magnificent creatures should not be held in captivity.
