The revolution in Dubai’s mall food offers no better example than this outpost of the Armani empire. The coffee is as smooth as an Italian server, the food is as stylishly presented as the staff, and the Italian flavours so good we wish it had a liquor licence.

    Designer lunches for everyday shoppers?

    Dubai isn't known as a backpacker's heaven and budget travellers will doubtless feel quite out of place amidst the designer glitz and glamour that is Dubai. But if you feel like trying out that lifestyle for an hour or two without breaking the bank, the Emporio Armani Caffe in the Mall of the Emirates might be the place to try.
    You don't have to be dressed in the latest Armani outfit to be allowed in, but if you want to look and feel the part, you might want to ditch the packs and don your freshest black outfit.
    Inside, the decor is minimalistic and really not that exciting for a designer restaurant - indeed, you could be forgiven for thinking the seat coverings came from Ikea! But the staff are welcoming and ready to serve at the blink of an eye, regardless of the size of your wallet, and that in itself could make it worth a visit!
    If your budget allows, splash out and do three courses - you won't be disappointed! The presentation is fantastic, the flavours are exquisite and you'll quickly find yourself wanting to be a more regular part of this scene! And if the credit card doesn't bounce at the end (and it shouldn't really - the prices aren't that bad at all) have a quick look at the mini-deli counter and see if you can resist the temptation of the flavoured Cremas and Armani chocolates!
