Lonely Planet review for Bombay
It’s worth a detour deep into Deira for Bombay’s orthodox North Indian cooking. Come hungry and start with the kebab sampler (mutton, chicken, fish) then move on to mint-marinated fish cooked tandoori style, or a cardamom-rich saag gosht (lamb and spinach). There’s lots for vegetarians. The French-style service by tuxedo-clad waiters is a surprise at this price, but we’re not arguing. We’re just happy they serve beer.

Holy Aloo Gobhi, this place is tasty..!! What’s not to love about THE BOMBAY..??. The restaurant serves east Indian fare and that too at a very reasonable price. The food is fantastic, the portions are large, the vegetarian entrees are many, and the restaurant feels...well...friendly. There is no other word for it but friendly. I feel more comfortable there then in any other Indian restaurant in town, largely because of the soft lighting, authentic Indian music, and unpretentious attitude. And, of course, the food. Oh, yes...the food...
My wife insists that we go there (or get takeout from there) whenever possible. Butter Chicken is her favorite dish which she always has with garlic naan, and she insists that they make the best Butter Chicken and the best garlic naan in town.
I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. Please say namaste to the staff there when you're there.
And tip them well.Good for: atmosphere, food, service, Families
