Situated in a prime location for sundowners, this lively and popular hotel offers a wide choice of restaurants and entertainment. The decor and furnishings suffer from being slightly tired but there is nothing tired about the service and the facilities.

With beach, bars, a business centre and a staggering 12 boardrooms, it's hard to think what else a hotel needs to provide to keep a guest happy. The rooms are spacious with wonderful city or sea views, and for those coming to Abu Dhabi to relax and enjoy a cosmopolitan atmosphere in attractive surroundings, the Inter-Continental is a good place to let the proverbial hair down. The marble-clad, Persian-rugged foyer is more formal than the rest of the hotel, which wears its success in a slightly chipped-around-the-edges favourite-armchair kind of familiarity and ease. With a private island for swimming and sunbathing, a marina, a collection of fun restaurants angled to make the most of the setting sun, and a variety of entertainments that include comedy acts, salsa classes and calypso, it is little wonder that the hotel is such a popular venue with local residents.
