Aussie Moving to Sharjah.

Hello everyone.

My name is Trace and my husband ( to be) and I are moving to Sharjah in August. Yes I said "to be" as even thought he and I have been together for 18 years, we found out for us to live there, a prerequisite for us to be able to live together, was to be wed, so that little event is happening mid July.

We currently live on the Gold Coast in Australia so this will be a complete lifestyle change for us, although one we are truly looking forward to.

My husband was offered a job…

Hello,
The last thread on this was very old, so I am starting a new one. Is Dubai/UAE safe for people of the Jewish faith? Will there be a lot of hatred, and will you be able to find friends/co workers/a spouse who will be comfortable with the fact ones religion is Jewish (even if they barely practice)?

I, my wife, and her sister plan to fly between Bangkok and Mauritius on Emirates Air next winter. We're interested in spending a half or full day in Dubai on the way back to BKK, to experience a bit of this city that we have heard so much about. But while I'm a frequent traveler and know Asia well, I am starting from zero in this part of the world.

My wife and I are in our 50's / 60's and are used to spending $100-$200 per day when we travel. I guess we'd be comfortable adding another $100-$200…

Dubai Hotels

Hi. My first trip to Dubai will be in October for 5 nights. I've been looking at hotels on sites like Trip Advisor and am interested in ones like Premier Inn Dubai International Airport or Ibis World Trade Centre. These are in my price range and have 24 hour reception as I arrive and leave very early in the morning. Can anyone suggest which would be the best of these two or any others please. Thanks.

Layover Hotel Question

Good Day
Going through Dubai airport from Seattle on way to Seychelle Islands. 14 hours total, overnight. Asking for opinion on taking cab to less expensive hotel within a mile or paying more to stay in the airport terminal hotel. I believe the terminal hotel includes meeting at gate on arrival and escort to gate next day. Cost versus efficiency is the concern I guess. Thanks in advance.

Dubai hotel for Kids

I will be travelling to Dubai alone with my 2 year old kid in December for 2 nights.
Can anyone recommend a good beachside hotel that is kid friendly.
Budget is around $400 USD per night.
I have looked at The Westin Mina Seyahi and the Meridien Mina Seyahi but I've read that they have a very noisy all night beach club which can be heard in the hotel rooms...
Suggestions welcome
