Lonely Planet review

This busy Left Bank hotel pays for its rather remote location by having lower prices, but since it's immediately next to a metro stop, it's not inconvenient for visitors. Although the architecture is a perfect representative of the 'nasty Soviet monolith' type, inside it is quite a bit nicer.

The rooms are typical sovok (Soviet style) of the dark-wood furniture type; they haven't been remodelled, but are very clean and functional. Steer clear of the 'improved rooms,' which barely differ from the standard rooms (apart from nice wallpaper and slightly different flooring).
