On a well-trafficked but beautiful avenue - just one block from the truly hectic riverside street - the small, carefully remodelled Impressa has a grand, nostalgic look and ambience that are reminiscent of New Orleans' French Quarter.
The rooms vary in layout - some with small bedrooms and large bathrooms, some the other way around. On the plus side, they are well-appointed; on the minus side, they are dimly lit. The hallways are fragrant, which is a plus or minus, depending on how you feel about artificial smells. As a whole, the Impressa seems too pricey for what it delivers, but the street is stacked with gorgeous old buildings, making it the kind of place you'd want to wander along at twilight, holding hands with your heart's delight, before returning to dine at the hotel's upscale Italian restaurant.
