  1. A

    Reporter

Reporter has three wings: a ground-floor coffee shop serving breakfasts and possibly the plumpest, tastiest homemade varenyky (dumplings) in the land; a chichi restaurant upstairs; and a superb basement ‘warm-up bar’ with a great in-house DJ getting the city’s hipsters fired up for a night on the town.

  2. B

    Beer House

Beer House must have a versatile chef – there are separate European, Russian and, of course, sushi menus in the downstairs restaurant. Be warned: those juicy looking steak prices are ‘per 100g’. Personal 3L kegs are the speciality of the beer room upstairs.

  3. C

    Safari

A suave and sophisticated restaurant near Shevchenko Park, this establishment specialises in exotic dishes like king crab, blue-fin tuna and marble beef carpaccio. The heat lamps on the patio are a nice touch when the air gets nippy.
