The 4th edition of our Ukraine guide was published in May 2014. Due to the dramatic changes that have taken place in Ukraine since this book was sent to the printer (the Euromaidan protests and the annexation of Crimea), we have produced a special update for travellers, as an addendum for the guidebook. You can download it here.
This update was written after the author's visit to Ukraine in April 2014 and it includes a new chapter as well as the corrected pages from the guidebook.

Was in Ukraine in early May where I visited Kiev, Lviv and Zhovkva.
Getting there: No issues whatsoever. I took Ukraine International Airlines on the following routes: Vilnius to Kiev, Kiev - Lviv - Kiev, Kiev - Riga and all flights departed on time. It's a budget airline so no food served onboard except for water. Loved the spacious legroom though even in economy class!
Transport from Boryspil Airport to city: Took taxi which cost about UAH 390. Tout tried to rip me off first while I was…

When I was in Turkey I bought a 230v/50hz plug that I could connect my video camera battery to so I could charge the battery-----It says in Lonely Planet book that the electrical outlet in Ukraine takes 220v/50hz My question is will my plug work in Ukraine when mine is 230 and the book says 220? Thanks. If not, is it easy to find the appropriate adapter in Ukraine or should I try to find one in USA? Thanks again.
I plan to visit Ukraine in upcoming months and would also like to visit Crimea for 2-3 days. I would probably prefer to arrive to Crimea first and then continue to Kiev or Odessa.
Is this doable? I know I would need Russian visa, since Crimea is de facto under Russian control - I should be able to obtain these. But is there any actual transportation option to get from Crimea to mainland Ukraine other than flying via Russia? Are there any trains or something?
I am looking to acquire a Visa for Ukraine because I really want to go and do a tour of Chernobyl. I am currently in Croatia and will be travelling throughout the Balkans over the next 2 -3 months. I am looking to go there late July, I cannot apply for a Visa in any Schengen countries as my 90 days is up
Does anyone or any Aussies out there know where I can apply for a Visa somewhere in the Balkans? Is this even possible at all would it have to be done from home? Also any idea how…
We are in Lviv, Ukraine right now and are having issues with our travel plans moving forward.
We want to take transportation to Cluj Napoca, Romania on 11 June. We can't find anything on the seat61.com site and another site (Rome2Rio.com) seem almost unusable (bus to train to taxi to train to ...) or cost-prohibitive ( $420 each to fly 22 hours!)
Do you know of either any good routes to Cluj by train or any good websites that will point us in the right direction?
Thanks again for your…
Hello, we will be visiting Lviv in early June and have been reading and seeing youtube videos of the bazaars. However, there haven't been posts with addresses or locations for the bazaar(s). The only thing I could find was this list of things to do "#16 – Buy local veggies at Stryisky bazaar" ... I found a park called Stryisky but its huge, and a google search of these terms hasn't turned up a more specific location/address nor hours of operation.
Can anyone help. Thanks in advance!
