Paşaköy Bar & Restaurant
More theme park than restaurant, the infamous Paşaköy is well worth an evening of absurdist dining. It's hidden in a lush garden with hanging lamps, a bubbling brook and caged parrots fighting for space, the decor growing weirdly familiar with every drink. The food – a mix of standard Turkish and Italian – is reliable.

Café Notte
In the heart of the trendier northern waterfront strip, this cool bar-bistro has a cosmopolitan menu and cocktails (TL10); we found the White Russians to be better than the Margaritas. Fajitas and fish and chips are on offer, as are simpler eats such as pizzas and sandwiches (TL4 to TL10).

Otel Büyük Kervansaray
Even if you're not staying in this historic hotel it's worth popping in for a meal in the restaurant, which is a converted camel stable. There's live music here most nights and, joy of joys, it's licensed.
