Beyaz Yunus Lokantası
Set on a stunning terrace overlooking the bay, the Beyaz is famous for its fresh fish and seafood. Sample some of the exquisite seafood mezes such as calamari stuffed with feta, or octopus slow-cooked in red wine. Down some steps is a delightful 'Sunset Bar'- perfect for a pre-dinner aperitif! It's on the Faralya road about 1km from the town centre.

Oba Motel Restaurant
Partly housed in a wooden cabin, the restaurant of the leafy Oba Motel has a great reputation for home-style food at palatable prices. It also does great Turkish/European breakfasts (from TL12) including homemade muesli with mountain yoghurt and local pine honey. The menu offers everything from snacks to full-on mains, including a half-dozen veggie options.

Butterfly Valley
Highly recommended are the boat tours that go to or include Butterfly Valley via Ölüdeniz and include walking, swimming and ruin-visiting.

Sun Cafe
This open-fronted bar and eatery is especially popular with expats, and it's imediately apparent why. There's a great terrace, a pool table, aquarium and, in the colder months, an open fire. And the food? A mixed feedbag of Mexican, international and (some) Turkish favourites seems to go down well.

Paragliding
Daniel Craig jumps off 1960m-high Baba Dağ in the latest James Bond film Skyfall and so can you. The descent from the mountain can take up to 40 minutes, with amazing views over the Blue Lagoon, Butterfly Valley and, on a clear day, as far as Rhodes.
Various companies offer tandem paragliding flights, but prices can vary between TL120 and TL150. Just ensure the company has insurance and the pilot has the appropriate qualifications. Reliable companies include Easy Riders and Pegas Paragliding. Parasailing (TL100) on the beach is also possible.

Club Belcekız Beach
Set on a stunning terrace overlooking the sea, the flagship restaurant at this gigantic resort serves a potpourri of cuisines, including Indian and Thai, but by all accounts is more successful with the second. Multicourse set meals are TL47.

Boat Excursions
Throughout the summer, boats set out to explore the coast, charging between TL15 and TL25 for a day trip (including lunch). A typical cruise might take in Gemile Bay, the Blue Cave, Butterfly Valley and St Nicholas Island, with some time for swimming included. Ask the tourist office for more information.

Ölüdeniz Beach & Lagoon
The beach is very much the centre of things here; it's at the bottom of the hill past the package-tour colonies of Ovacik and Hisarönü. Near the junction of the road with a jandarma (police) post and opposite the post office is the guarded entrance to Ölüdeniz Tabiat Parkı and its lagoon, still a lovely place to while away a few hours on the beach with mountains soaring above you. There are showers, toilets and cafes here too.
