Beaches
Marmaris' beaches may be narrow and pebbly but you can actually swim in the city centre. Much nicer beaches, however, at İçmeler and Turunç, some 10km and 20km respectively to the southwest, can be reached by dolmuşes from outside the Tansaş Shopping Centre for TL2.50 and TL6. From May to October, water taxis also link the waterfront on either side of the Atatürk statue with İçmeler and Turunç (TL10, 45 minutes, every hour). The beach at Günlücek Park, a forest park reserve 3.5km southeast of Marmaris, is also accessible by dolmuş from outside Tansaş Shopping Centre.
