Lonely Planet review for Meğri Restaurant

In a beautiful old stone house decorated with traditional artefacts, this place serves a varied menu in a nice atmosphere. With Turkish, Italian and French food all on offer, it might suit bickering couples who can't agree on where to go.

    A hot and tasty affair!

    sammydirect recommends this,

Pick any time during the summer and take an amble through the narrow cobbled streets of Fethiyes Paspatur Old Town and you can’t help but run into Megri - it’s everywhere! The sprawling haunts that make up the Megris – an up-scale restaurant and cheaper lokanta, seem to occupy over half of Fethiyes bustling tourist district, just a short stroll back from the harbor front.
It looks good! If first impressions are to go by, the Megri Restaurant seems the place to go. Packed full of character with high ceilings, traditional white stone walls, decretive kilims and a large bustling courtyard that spills out into the square. One glance at the faces of those eating and you can tell Megri is obviously popular with the locals and tourists alike.
The waiter came across laughing and sat us at a table smack in the centre of the square, gave us the menus and started clapping and pointing at the smiling red faced couple holding hands at the far side of the courtyard, “they getting married” he said and let out a cheer, “Oh, sorry…what you drinking?”.
That was the start of a memorable night of laughter and fun. The atmosphere was great, the food so good that we ate there two or three times. Great mezes and a varied menu of Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine, all piping hot and served in man sized portions. Our favorites had to be the calamari, big chunks of ultra fresh and crispy squid served on salad with a big wedge of lemon, the fabulous puffy share and tear lavas (pita) bread with garlic butter and the meaty grills all cooked to perfection.
Megri restaurant really does live up to its reputation. To be fair, some dishes (mainly seafood) did seem a little pricey but I can’t fault the staff, service or atmosphere. Well worth a visit!
